Why do you feel so strongly about promoting and celebrating apprenticeships?
Apprenticeships make education accessible to everyone – no matter where you start you can take your knowledge and career as far as you want to go. Celebrating with awards like this can only improve awareness so more people understand the possibilities apprenticeships bring for them to reach their potential.
Why do you feel proud to sponsor Macro Employer of the Year category?
It’s great to celebrate and showcase the organisations that are delivering apprenticeships well, to inspire others to offer more opportunities. Larger organisations celebrated in the Macro award have huge potential to make a massive impact in their local community – to give young people highly-desirable skills and a great start to their career.
What role do apprentices play within your own organisation?
We train thousands of apprentices every year and place them in fantastic jobs in the digital industry – the UK’s fastest growing sector and one in desperate need of more people with digital skills. We’ve placed over 25,000 apprentices into careers so far. Apprentices are also a vital part of our business too. We have apprentices throughout QA in all different kinds of teams and once they complete they continue their careers with us.
What message would you give to all this years’ finalists ahead of the national ceremony on 27th November?
A huge congrats to all finalists. They’re doing such incredible work in apprenticeships it will certainly be a tough ask to judge between such deserving candidates for the award this year. They’re all an inspiration to employers – it’s a pleasure to hear all their stories and to be able to share what they’ve achieved through this platform. We hope they inspire many more brilliant apprenticeship opportunities. We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate the fantastic achievements of all the finalists at the awards in November – and announce and congratulate the winner!
