Kieran's role is pivotal to supporting the advancement of North’s transformative smart integrated technology solutions and to develop key skills necessary to be successful in the workplace and to advance his personal career journey. Kieran's impact within North is not just confined to his apprenticeship; it resonates throughout the company's ethos. Kieran stands tall amongst his peers, displaying confidence and self-assurance, matched with the humility of an individual with a lifelong pathway of learning and development. Kieran joined North, following a period where he was an Apprentice Stevedore. Keen to satisfy an urge to work in an Engineering role, Kieran took the opportunity to join North as an Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer.

Life as an Apprentice Stevedore is one of hard work and physical effort, and our North East Engineering team quickly realised that with Kieran, we had someone with an incredible work ethic. Kieran’s work ethic was matched with a very keen aptitude for learning and a thirst for developing quickly.

The simple measure of an effective apprentice is where he is an apprentice ho are keen to work alongside them. Time spent developing and mentoring, is repaid in works being completed quicker and to a high standard. Kieran is currently North’s in-demand Apprentice Engineer.

Recognised by colleagues, Kieran was awarded a North Star employee achievement award, a testament to his outstanding contributions within a short period. His colleagues value his presence, and senior engineers actively seek his collaboration, showcasing the significant demand for his skills and expertise.

Kieran commenced college as part of Access Training’s (Newcastle) April 23 intake. College reviews established that he was a model student, the exemplar of his year group. This culminated in Kieran concluding his first year of college, 6 months early and fast-tracked into his second year effective September 2023.

Working across North’s substantial customer base in the North-East, the work which Kieran completes makes a difference. Whether it’s Access Control and safe access in Newcastle’s hospitals, Public Space CCTV for North and South Tyneside Council or public and private CCTV for Northumbria Police, Kieran is helping make a difference in his local community. We’re very proud of Kieran at North, in a very short space of time, he’s established himself as a future star in the Life Safety & Security industry. North is confident that Kieran's journey will not only benefit the company's current endeavours but will also contribute to the broader industry's advancement.
