Jacob Mielnik, a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice (IT department) helped with the facilitating of the asymptomatic and lateral flow testing sites across the county.

Jacob Mielnik joined Northumberland County Council in September 2020 as a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice within the IT department. He has played a vital role in supporting the council’s efforts against COVID-19 facilitating the asymptomatic and lateral flow testing sites across the county.


Asymptomatic and lateral flow tests are a vital part in the fight against COVID-19, by working collaboratively with teams across the council Jacob built the website for residents to book their tests. He then worked on-site, training staff on how to use the government test result recording website.


The impact this project has had is immeasurable and is just one of the ways apprentices at Northumberland County Council are supporting the county through the pandemic.
